The conference should have lasted 15 minutes, but instead lasted 1 hour and 15 minutes. Academically she couldn't be more pleased with him. He is light years ahead of the rest of the kids - mostly because of the time spent in Sallie's class.
Socially, he's still behind.
As far as the "bully" thing goes she had a few things to talk to me about.
1. He had issues when he was waiting in line. Mostly if he was towards the middle of the line. He would squeeze the child in front of him or behind him. She finally asked the OT how to handle this and the OT said that he was being overstimulated by the kids around him and was sensory seeking to calm himself. They've improved it by keeping him in front or in back... and the OT gave them a squeezie ball to give him if needed.
2a. Pushing. As far as the child from this morning goes, she told the parapro that it was ironic that the child said that because he is typically the one that starts the issues. He kind of gets Isaiah going and then Isaiah gets carried away.
2b. Gym or recess. Because these times aren't structured he has the worst time here. He doesn't know what to do with his energy so he pushes, runs into other kids, hits them with his chest (kinda like football players or frat boys). She said you can tell that he's just overstimulated and frustrated, but she doesn't know how to handle it because she can't work one on one with him... she has 20 kids. So this happens on a near-daily basis, but we'll work on it as best we can. It's good to know that it's not that he's being mean, but that he's being sensory over stimulated.
She said that most days he is the most well-behaved and that he is the most respectful child she's ever had. She gushed over him and really made me feel better.

I had to ask them to put Fletch toward the front of the line because he gets distracted, especially if he's at the back of the line. They can't put him in front all the time because they have "line leaders".
As far as my kid and bullying go, i think he's just a bit of a douche. <3
don't give up...before we got Meagan on the meds that worked...we had very similar issues. By the way, I think that my oldest daughter's chorus sang at your bank today.
